Research

I am a member of Cybersecurity lab and the security team CSIRT-MU at Masaryk University. My research focuses on finding new ways of effective training of security experts. We use hands-on exercises in a virtual environment, from which we collect and analyze training data.

Publications

You can find my papers on Google Scholar and GitHub. My Ph.D. thesis, supervised by Pavel Čeleda and Jan Vykopal, is publicly available as well. I have experience in presenting my work at top-tier conferences in the USA and Europe, including ACM SIGCSE.

Projects

I actively participate in the European Union Horizon 2020 pilot CyberSec4Europe, as well as the Czech national cybersecurity excellence center. I am also a contributor to the open-source KYPO Cyber Range Platform and the associated projects.

Teaching

I mainly help teach cybersecurity courses offered by our lab. I have lead Python seminars and workshops for high schools. My goal is to offer interesting and valuable classes. I received highly positive feedback, including a university-wide award for the best teacher.

Student supervision

I really enjoy supervising theses and student projects! So far, I have supervised 13 bachelor and master theses. You can find the currently available topics on our lab website.

Educational videos

Apart from in-person classes, I created mathematical educational videos in my own project Elea: Teach yourself math and also for the company Datakabinet that provides teaching materials to thousands of schools.

About me

Music

I played electric guitar in my art-rock band in high school. We had three shows, so it was a big deal! My teacher was an excellent musician Martin Novák from the band Sto Múch. I enjoy many different genres of music, mainly including jazz, fusion, grunge, art rock, and pop.

Movies

I love watching movies and TV shows. My favorites include anything from Christopher Nolan and Star Wars. I'm also a huge fan of stand-up comedy (especially Ricky Gervais and Louis CK) and stuff like South Park.

Travelling

I visited 25 countries on 3 continents (Europe, North America, and Asia), but there are still a lot of places on the bucket list! This website features a few pictures from my travels.

Besides these things, I also exercise and used to do recreational swimming and boxing. During summer, I enjoy hikes in nature, and during winter, you'd find me playing board games with friends.
